Los Angeles homeowners need to take note of the following new law.
The danger of Carbon Monoxide , the silent killer, has finally been addressed by the passing of a new law SB183, which will go into effect on January 1st.
This law requires that a carbon monoxide detector be put into every Los Angeles home inhabited by humans, whether it be a single family home or residential income.
single family units need to comply by January 1st owners of multi-family units by July 1st.
Failure to comply will result in a fine of $200.
If you are selling your Los Angeles home this will be added to the list of retrofitting required to complete escrow.

And it reminds me that after my dryer caught fire, I had to disconnect my smoke detector as it was wired to my alarm system which I don’t use anymore.
I’ll be off to Home Depot this weekend for BOTH of these important safety features you should have in your home!
