If you are thinking of buying or renting a condo on the Wilshire Corridor there are some facts to consider. Also known as The Golden Mile, the Corridor is an approximately 2-mile stretch of luxury high-rise condominium buildings which runs from just east of Westwood Village to the west side of the Los Angeles Country Club. There are 31 of these buildings but not all of them will provide what a buyer or renter is looking for.
Often people new to the area are not familiar with the prices. For the most part the Wilshire Corridor is luxury living and that does not come cheap. For example, the median price to buy is $832,500 with the most expensive sold in the past six months being $3.2M. We will get to the lower-priced units in a moment. To rent the median price is $4,550 per month, with the highest lease over the past six months being $14,000 per month.
The draw of the Wilshire Corridor for most people, especially New Yorkers, is the security of having a valet and concierge and then all the amenities that go with it. Knowing what is important to you and will define the best building for you, whether you are buying or renting.
