The Wilshire Corridor, also known as The Golden Mile, is an approximately one-mile stretch of luxury condominium buildings which runs from just east of Westwood Village to the west side of the Los Angeles Country Club.
Located in the heart of Westwood in Los Angeles, the Corridor is bordered by the wealthy communities of Beverly Hills to the east, and Holmby Hills and Bel Air to the north. Westwood itself is the home of UCLA and has a mixture of high and medium-priced single family homes, condominiums and rental units.
Prices along the Wilshire Corridor average from high $993.5K for a one-bedroom unit and $2M for a two-bedroom, to $2.7M for a three bedroom. This excludes the penthouses. Homeowners dues range from low $600K $3,800 per month and much more for penthouses and larger units.
A wonderful way to find out if this kind of living is for you is to take advantage of the leases that come on the market. Be aware, however, that many of the buildings are now initiating leasing restrictions on the units. You cannot lease a unit for two or three years after purchasing, and then you will go on a waiting list. This discourages investment buyers. Also, the minimum lease term is one year.

Each building has its own character and may offer something another may not: a larger pool deck, fully-stocked gym, or a grand reception area for example. Maybe you don’t want to spend a fortune on homeowners dues. Check which building may suit your taste.
If a particular school is important to you that will determine which side of the Corridor you live. The same with views. Do you want a south or north-facing view? Do you want to face away from the street noise?
