Looking for a Great Coffee Place in Westwood CA, Try Peet’s Coffee and Tea

Posted by janepeters on January 25, 2011

Peet's Coffee 7 Tea, Westwood CA Coffee Shop, Where to Go in Westwood CA

If you are looking for a friendly place to sit read your newspaper, or use the wifi to check your email on your laptop in West Los Angeles, then Peet’s is the place.

First opened in 1966 in Berkeley, CA by Alfred Peet, Peet’s Coffee and Tea became a gathering place for coffee lovers.  Alfred Peet actually mentored the founders of Starbucks and supplied them with the coffee for their first three years in business.

There are approximately nine stores on the Westside of Los Angeles, but the one I frequent is by far the best.

Westwood CA Peet's Coffee, Where to Go in Westwood CA

Located at 1854 Westwood Blvd. (just south of Santa Monica Blvd.) this Peet’s is a true neighborhood cafe.  The baristas are extremely friendly and know all their regular customers by name.  The store is a magnet for the locals and if you sit there long enough, someone you know will come in.  You may even have time to talk to them if you can tear yourself away from the friends you have made there.

The Artisan baked goods are kosher and include an array of muffins, croissants, scones and Danish.

Next time you are in the West Los Angeles area, do drop in and say hello.

Oh, and did I mention the coffee is absolutely delicious.

I wish we had a coffee shop like Peets, the closest thing we have is a Panera.

HI Jane, great local post about Peet’s coffee. We have one here in Newport Beach as well. Great place to sit outside and enjoy a cup of coffee.

Michelle, I will have to check out Panera next time I’m in your neck of the woods. I think we might have one of those here. The name is familiar.

Sharon, they are really friendly places. They staff at ours makes a big difference too.

Hi Jane. Oooh. I love Peet’s coffee. I used to go there in NYC. Didn’t realize it originated by you. Very cool. What a great place to hang out and relax.
