As you will probably know, Los Angeles is one of the most expensive cities to live in the U.S. in terms of housing. So the question of what you can buy for under $1Million in Los Angeles is a valid one. Home prices continue to grow as do rentals. On top of this inventory remains low, especially at lower end of the market, therefore competition is high.
For the purposes of this post I will be covering the featured communities on this site with the exception of those included in the five listed counties. Since you will be able to buy condo for under $1 Million in most areas of Los Angeles, we will concentrate on single family homes where you will find few options on the Westside.
You will find few, if any, homes for sale under $1 Million in the cities of Beverly Hills, Malibu, Santa Monica, West Hollywood or Culver City. So let’s take a look at those communities where you are likely to find a decent selection. Again we are talking about those communities covered by my site.
You will also find a good choice of homes under $1 Million in the West Valley, in communities such as Tarzana, North Hills, West Hills, Canoga Park and Northridge. North Hollywood is another option.
You have several search options to find other communities in the Los Angeles area where you will be able to buy a single family home under $1 million. Use the Advanced Search, Map Search, or the easy search options you will find in the sidebar or at the top of the home page.
Before you start your search make sure you have spoken to a lender, as you cannot make an offer without a letter from that lender. You really need to set your top limit so that you are not disappointed when you find a home for which you are not qualified.
Of course if a condominium is for you this will open up a lot more opportunities to find that perfect home.
Who knows, maybe your dream home is listed above!
